Successful Temple Color Up 5K
Temple South Rotary assisted in running the Color Up 5k event on June 29th at Temple Lions Park. We had approximately seventeen Temple South Rotaries plus spouses and or relatives assist. There were approximately 1600 participants in the event which made in the neighborhood of $8000 for our club. Thanks to all who helped and congratulations to Neil and Nancy for lining up this event.
The Temple Color Up 5K is our club's project to raise funds for a walk-in freezer for Churches Touching Lives for Christ food pantry. This Ministry is commonly called CTLC and provides for the needy in the Temple Coummunity. The freezer will allow CTLC to provide more weekend snack packs to kids at TISD who are on reduced price or free lunch program. The Snack program has been able to provide 100 such students with these snack packs, but 600 more are needed.
