Rogers High student, Autumn Pittman, came to say thank you to the Rotarians of Temple South Rotary. The club sent Autumn to Camp RYLA 2009 at McKinney Rough in Bastrop, TX.

 

Temple-South Rotary Club RYLA camper, Autumn Pittman came to the July 27 meeting to say thank you to the club for sending her to CampRYLA. Autumn said that it was a very significant event for her in her life. The experience helped her to learn about leadership, make new friends and become a better person. She hopes to go back next year as a counselor. Autumn said that she hopes we will send more campers next year.

 

Camp RYLA is a Rotary wide camp for high school aged students that helps to develop leadership skills that they can use in school and life. District 5870 has provided Camp RYLA for over 25 years. RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Award, and it is in recognition of students with potential to further develop into strong leaders. The week long camp helps to develop the spirit of team and build confindence through programs, physical activities and motivational speakers. Many students come away with goals established for the coming year that impact them for the rest of their lives.
