The new board of Temple-South Rotary and our new President, Mike Brockway, were installed by District 5870 Governor Ruth Allison at the CAC on June 28, 2010.

Once again July 1 comes and in Rotary that means a change of officers for the new Rotary year. As has become our custom, Temple-South had its Monday meeting in the evening for the installation of officers for the coming year and the recognition of the out going board and President.

The CAC was the location for the dinner gathering where Rotarians and guests enjoyed beverages, fellowship, a fine meal and a program of ceremony, tradition and recognition.

Outgoing President Dan Jones recognized his board and presented the BJ Murphy Rotarian of the Year award to Club Treasurer, Joe White. Dan said that Joe helped us have fun this year when he announced the selection.

Our new District 5870 Governor Ruth Allison made some inspiring remarks about her outlook for Rotary and our district before she installed the new 2010-11 board and President, Mike Brockway. Mike was inducted into the exclusive membership of POTS, President of Temple-South by Past President Phil Leibowitz. Then, the moment that Past President Dan had been waiting for occurred, he was inducted into the growing membership of PPOTS, Past President of Temple-South.

President Mike then sent us off with a few thoughts about his upcoming year, and once again the change of command of the Rotary Club of Temple-South occurred in a generally civilized and dignified manner.

Thanks to our past board and President Dan for a great year of Rotary fun and service. We look forward to President Mike's year and another year of opportunity for Service Above Self.
