2009-10 President Dan Jones presided over the Installaion Banquet and 25th Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Temple-South.

A long standing tradition of the Rotary Club of Temple-South is to cancel our noon meeting when the Monday is the fifth one in a month. In place of the noon meeting the club plans a special meeting. In the past those meetings have been Cajun night, lobster night, Yankee night or just an excuse to get together with our spouses for an evening of fellowship at a restaurant or a members home. Many times we plan for the event on a weekend when more people can attend in the evening. However, this past Monday, June 29, was the fifth Monday, and the special occasion was the installation banquet held at the CAC in Temple.

2009-10 District Governor, Tim Buckley installed Dan Jones as our new club president followed by the installation of the new board. As if this was not special by itself, Temple-South celebrated its 25th anniversary as a member of Rotary International. It was a grand celebration with a gathering of many of the past presidents of the club, including our founding president, Clayton Bonnett. In fact all but two of our first ten presidents were in attendance. It was a great reunion where memories of the "good old days" were talked about and remembered.

Another special part of the evening was the presentation of Paul Harris Fellows. About 10 new Paul Harris Fellows were presented to Rotarians and family members. A Paul Harris Fellow is the recognition of a $1,000 contribution to The Rotary Foundation in an individual's name. It is a special recognition for Rotarians and those that are recognized. These contributions are the life blood of the work of Rotary and The Rotary Foundation.
